In June, we had an opportunity to participate in the Interact 2019. Interact is the annual meeting of the European digital advertising industry organized by IAB Europe. The thirteenth edition of the event prepared jointly with IAB Poland took place on June 4-5
in Warsaw’s Złote Tarasy. The main theme was: Growing change. Changing growth. For 2 intense days, among 700 representatives of the largest companies and agencies from the world of media and science, we were discussing what change and growth mean to modern business – two immanent features for the digital era.
The conference was focused on the business aspects of the digital advertising industry. A lot of speeches touched on the issues of the GDPR and its effect after a year from implementation. The conclusion was that GDPR did not affect the big companies (such as Google, Facebook, Amazon or Apple) as expected by the legislator, but mainly small companies.
There could be no shortcomings on the subject of Machine Learning and Blockchain and the possibility of using these technologies in our industry.
We had the opportunity to take a closer look at the market statistics in previous years. The increase in spending on video advertising and its development was an evident trend.
What statistics also show is an increasing decline in public favorability toward advertising. Lack of transparency and ad frauds are the main threats to the digital advertising market.
An excellent opportunity for networking, learning about the industry, meeting new people and companies – this is how you can summarize Interact 2019. Indeed not our last time when we participated in it. See you next year!
