This September, during our annual summer BBQ, we celebrated a big milestone: Appliscale turned 10. It was a perfect moment to pause, reflect, and appreciate how far we have come together.
It all started quickly. A small team, big ambitions, and a client request that seemed impossible at the time. A modest first office with the kitchen beside the toilet (an unforgettable layout), late nights, shared laughter, endless coffee, and plenty of BBQs. We shipped features, learned as we went, and slowly added new faces who became friends.
There were challenges too, from worrying about payroll and finding new business to wondering if we were making the right calls. But one day you look up and realize you have grown. You still work hard, still have fun, still enjoy the BBQs, but now with nearly a hundred colleagues who share the same values you started with: kindness, curiosity, and technical excellence.
Over the past decade, we have built a truly people-oriented organization that attracts some of the most talented engineers. Not just skilled professionals, but genuinely great human beings. Together, we have delivered more than 75 projects across industries, from cloud engineering to AI-driven platforms.
Here are a few highlights from our journey so far:

- Clients from nine countries, including 18 companies in the US
- 45% of our team with eight or more years of experience
- 26% of our colleagues with us for over five years
We have been fortunate to have amazing clients, many of whom have been with us for over 5 years. We’ve built gaming infrastructure, ad servers, real-time bidding platforms, blockchains, property tech, more ad servers, B2B and B2C. We even launched rockets…kind of.
Our original office with its eight desks feels like a distant memory now. Today, our team works across Poland, Ireland, and beyond, sometimes from Tenerife, Italy, or wherever inspiration strikes. Interns have grown into team leads, and the cycle continues as new talent joins and makes their mark.
To everyone who has been part of this journey, colleagues past and present, clients, partners, friends, and families – thank you. You have shaped who we are today.
