Reduced the client’s AWS costs by an estimated $50,000 per month while increasing the scalability of their systems to handle 100 million monthly active users and up to 4 million concurrent users

The client was managing large-scale, distributed systems, including game chat and notification platforms, that were crucial for multiple game teams. These systems needed to support a growing global user base while remaining cost-effective. With aging technologies and increasing operational complexity, the client sought a solution to modernize their infrastructure, reduce costs, and streamline maintenance, allowing their developers to focus on innovation rather than constant system upkeep.
We provided consulting, software engineering, and on-call support to modernize and optimize the client’s infrastructure. Our solution involved upgrading service runtimes, migrating from outdated technologies like Riak to modern solutions such as Redis and Aurora, and transitioning deployments from AWS EC2 to services backed by Kubernetes. This ensured system scalability, reduced costs, and improved performance. Along with modernizing the infrastructure, we also contributed to the development of new features and services, from drafting design documents all the way through to production deployment and monitoring.
Our solution reduced the client’s AWS costs by an estimated $50,000 per month while increasing the scalability of their systems to handle 100 million monthly active users and up to 4 million concurrent users. The modernization efforts lowered the maintenance burden by reducing the frequency of incidents, freeing the development team to focus on product enhancements. Additionally, we fostered better internal collaboration by providing continuous support and technical guidance to other development teams, ensuring long-term system efficiency and performance.
